Prior to April 28, 2008

A slight change in our itinerary! We were to stay on the East Coast and do lots of small boat racing, but my shoulder has gone bad, and we are going to take a trip to the West Coast instead. This will complete our tour of nearly every state west of the Mississippi River. So far we have traveled approximately 57,000 miles since 2003 and expect to do another 13,000 – 15,000 miles this summer. Sure wish wed were back in the days when I was moaning about gas being $1.25/gallon.

Daisy, our German Shepherd, is ready to go and spends a good portion of her day near the RV so she won’t be forgotten. A complete rebuild of the RV front end was required to repair the damage we have done over the last few years. Batteries need to be checked, and new awning has been installed. We had a few leaks last summer so we had the RV pressure-tested and recaulked. We bought an auto GPS and hope that it will have all the roads we might travel. We expect to be gone for 5 months, returning the end of September or early October.

We are going hi-tech (for us) this year and both Susie and I will have individual blogs. You can well imagine that the focus of hers will be different from mine. My blog is http://jamiebrickell@blogspot.com and Susie’s is http://susiebrickell@blogspot.com.
